Figma’s Controversial Update: Changes to Drafts

Figma recently rolled out a significant update that’s causing confusion and frustration among users. The update changes how drafts work, moving them to specific teams. The new “Drafts to Move” interface allows multiple drafts to be moved simultaneously. If drafts are not connected to a team, they can’t be edited.

This update means drafts will only be accessible to team members with the appropriate permissions. To edit shared drafts, both the owner and recipient need a paid seat. Users on a free plan can only edit up to three files, beyond which a paid plan is necessary.

On professional teams, free viewers can still create and edit unlimited drafts but need a paid seat to share them. Designers specifically need a paid seat to access all features.
